Roscoe Womack
1943 - 2021
Roscoe Womack, a native of Oxford, was the City of Oxford’s superintendent of maintenance for 42 years. His first job with the city was driving a garbage truck for $47 a week, on which he supported his wife and three children. He is well remembered in Oxford for his love of mules and for his beautiful mule-drawn carriages featured in the Fourth of July Parades.
