Mary Bates
1910 - 2001

Owner of the Mary Bates Beauty Shop in Oxford, the hub of news and information in the town.  Mary was a devoted member of her community as well as Allen Memorial Church.  She would often take breads, pies, and cakes to those confined to their homes and even brought them tapes of Sunday sermons when they could not attend.
