Dr. Terrell Tanner
1932 - 2008

Picture
Dr. Tanner received his medical degree from Emory University’s School of Medicine in 1959.  In 1975, the Tanners moved to Oxford, and made their home at historic Orna Villa, where they raised four children.  Dr. Tanner set up a private medical practice in town, building his office on the site where the current City Hall stands today.  After selling his practice in Oxford, he became Assistant Medical Director of Prison Health Services Inc., Georgia region and was elected president of the Southern Medical Association in November 1996.

When Dr, Tanner retired, he and his wife moved to Ellijay.
