Carlos B. Meyer
1928 - 2019
Meyer earned a doctorate in education from Vanderbilt University. He taught at Newton High School prior to becoming Director of Athletics and Chair of the Department of Education at Oxford College. He was inducted into Oxford College’s Sports Hall of Fame.
In 1986, Meyer served in public school administration as principal of Stoneview Elementary School in DeKalb County before retiring.
Active in the community, Meyer and his wife, Bim, were active members of Allen Memorial Methodist Church for over 60 years. Meyer served on numerous church committees, including the board of directors, the finance committee, the administrative council, the evangelism committee, and the Church Nurture program.
